17 August 2019 – 128th Ashbourne Show

Another successful event showcasing our project to both local residents and visitors at the 128th Ashbourne Show.

After the awful weather the night before the show, our poor gazebo suffered from the weight of the heavy rain and broke, but thanks to great teamwork and effort from the Partnership members, we managed to find two other gazebos, soaked up the mud with a bit of straw and proudly showcased our project at the show.

Thank you to everyone who visited our stand it was great to see significant and positive community interest and support in the project.

Many won some great prizes from our tombola and others bought some yummy homemade cakes and others contributed to our very popular Sponsor a Brick campaign, and we are delighted that the local community helped raise another £525 towards the project - thank you.

All in all, a great day and the sun came out - perfect.

16 August 2019

Finally dry after putting up the gazebo in the pouring rain and now time to get the prizes ready for our tombola.  Massive thanks to all who have kindly donated - some great prizes to be won.

Just shows how much fun you can have when you put up a gazebo in the pouring rain getting ready for our stand at Ashbourne Show...big thanks to those who helped.  Just hope it's still there in the morning! Don't forget your wellies - its a bit muddy.  But you will be rewarded with a fab tombola and some really yummy eats.

All the posters are ready for our stand at Ashbourne Show on Saturday telling you more about the project and how you can help and be involved.

Just learnt about some of the homemade cakes and treats that we will be selling at our stand at this year's Ashbourne Show ...chocolate cake (always a favourite), banana cake, chocolate chip cookies and many more...sounds yummy.

Busy planning all the details for our stand at this year's Ashbourne Show.  Some great prizes to be won at our Tombola and many thanks to all those who have kindly donated towards this.

30 July 2019

17 June 2019 - National Volunteer Week

As part of National Volunteer Week, we too want to say a BIG thank you.  Here is a pic of just some of our volunteers following one of our regular meetings.  They have all come together for one passion and that is to build a new sports and community memorial pavilion for Ashbourne.

23 January 2019

As the project continues to progress, we are also looking back at the history of the Pavilion.

Here is an image of the players from the West Germany's 1966 World Cup squad relaxing in from of the Pavilion with supporters.  The team trained on the grounds at the Pavilion for 18 days in July 1966 before the World Cup.

20 December 2018
Start of the ground investigation survey on the Pavilion project. This is part of the on-going pre-development technical work to get the project ready for implementation in the Autumn of 2019. It demonstrates the confidence of the Ashbourne Sports & Community Partnership in taking this major project forward with the support of Derbyshire Dales District Council.

Another excellent article about the project in the Ashbourne News Telegraph.

12 November 2018

Great to see our project promoted in the Derbyshire Dales County Council Dales Matters Autumn 2018 Newsletter.

25th September 2018

Excellent morning promoting the pavilion project to other community groups at the DDCVS networking event held in Ashbourne.
